The Powerball lottery results for the drawing on Saturday the 9th of April 2022 have been delayed due to security reasons. The drawing normally takes place every Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday at 10 pm CT, however, the drawing on Saturday was delayed by 4 and a half hours. The numbers drawn were finally published at 2:25 am CT on Sunday morning. At the time of this posting, the information about the winners is still unknown. The published jackpot for the drawing on Saturday night was $268m and it’s still unknown if anyone won that prize or if it will roll over into Monday’s drawing.
According to a press release on the official Powerball website, there was a security issue with one of the participating states. The Powerball lottery says that one of the participating states required more time to complete required security protocols which have to be met before and after all Powerball lottery drawings. We do not know yet which state had security issues or what the nature of those issues was.
As avid lottery players here at Lottery Angels, we would rather the results be delayed than see something go wrong and the lottery jackpot not being awarded fairly.
